Privacy Policy

The short version
We can't protect your privacy if we hoard your data. MailU stores only what is technically required to deliver your email to your browser, and destroys it automatically.
What we collect
- Mailbox address and lifetime: so we know where to deliver mail and when to delete it.
- Email content: messages and attachments sent to your temporary address are stored only until your inbox expires (24 hours, extendable to 7 days) or you delete it.
- The IP address used to create an inbox, kept solely for abuse prevention (rate limiting and brute-force protection) and visible only to the operator. We do not build browsing or identity profiles.
What we never do
- We never sell, share, or monetize your messages.
- We never require signup, phone numbers, or personal details.
- We never send email from your address (receive-only service).
Data retention
Messages, attachments and mailboxes are permanently deleted when the inbox expires or is deleted manually — expired inboxes stop receiving mail immediately and their contents are removed by automated cleanup shortly after. Abuse-prevention records (IP plus timestamp of failed logins) are pruned automatically within minutes.
Cookies and analytics
MailU stores a single value in your browser's local storage to keep your inbox session alive between page loads. It contains only the mailbox address and an access token. Clearing your browser storage removes it. If analytics or advertising (e.g. Google AdSense) is enabled, those partners may set their own cookies subject to their policies.
